Reality

Reality is the live place, civil time, and sky presentation for the city you select, or for Use My Location after you allow it. Astronomy and local civil time are calculated in the browser from that place.

Weather

Canonical preset cities currently use live weather supplied through the AURORA server: New York, London, Singapore, Tokyo, Beijing, and Perth. That includes current conditions and the existing historical and forecast view.

Weather for those presets is obtained through a server-side third-party weather provider. The current default provider is WeatherAPI.com. A legacy server-side rollback provider may remain available for operations. Requests are made server-side. Provider API credentials are not exposed to the browser.

Provider data is not claimed to be perfectly accurate, and live weather is not available for every place on Earth. Unsupported or gated locations do not receive live weather.

Weather information may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. AURORA · LIRA is not an official weather-warning or emergency service. Weather information should not be used as the sole basis for safety-critical decisions.

My Location

Use My Location starts only after you choose it and the browser grants permission. Exact coordinates stay in the current browser session. They are used locally for astronomy, timezone and civil time, and offline current-city resolution against a GeoNames-derived city index. Exact coordinates are not stored permanently by AURORA and are not written to your saved birth place or living city.

When a current city is resolved, Today may show that city name and request live weather through the AURORA server using the resolved city’s representative coordinates — not your exact GPS. Exact My Location coordinates are not sent to a weather provider. No third-party reverse-geocoding service is used. Astronomy and weather location paths remain separate.

City scenes

City scenes are illustrative atmospheric images, not a live camera, a real-time photograph, or an exact current sky photo. For a supported preset city, a scene may follow the normalized weather group and astronomical day or night.

For a supported local identity such as Perth, AURORA may show a representative city scene. When My Location weather is unresolved, a Perth scene is not a claim about current Perth weather. Day or night may follow astronomy.

Daily Rhythm

Today’s Rhythm is a general Daily Rhythm for the selected place’s civil date. It is not a personal chart, fortune, or private calculation. Best For and Take Care With are general reflections for the day, not commands. Daily Colour, Daily Number, and Direction are member-personalisation surfaces, not part of the general Daily Rhythm.

Daily Thought

Daily Thought is curated editorial text selected from the local civil date. It is not generated from private user data.

Early Access

Historical early-access and membership-interest registration used Formspree, an external form-processing service. That form collected a required email, an optional name, and an interest type. Submitting it did not create a user account and does not activate membership. Those historical interest records are retained. The form is no longer the Homepage account journey.

Current profile creation uses authenticated Member Profile. Completing a profile does not grant paid membership. Authenticated Stripe Checkout may take a card payment. Completing Checkout does not itself activate membership. Paid membership is activated only after the trusted Stripe subscription is synchronized by the server.

Accounts and payment

Optional email sign-in uses Supabase Auth. The server verifies the session with the Auth service and uses the Auth user UUID as identity. There is no public profile. Sign-in does not activate membership, payment, Want to Go, ranking, or stories.

Membership prices on the Home page are information only. Creating a profile does not activate a paid membership. Checkout payment is not membership authority.

Product usage measurement

AURORA · LIRA uses limited first-party product usage events to understand how people move through the product and whether key commercial and product flows work. Events may include a stage name, timestamp, current surface, allow-listed acquisition fields such as utm_source, and — when you are signed in — the internal Auth user UUID needed for retention measurement. This is limited first-party usage data, not an advertising or cross-site tracking system.

Analytics does not record birth information, Personal Rhythm results, names, precise location, or payment-card details. There is no third-party advertising tracker, session replay, heatmap, or fingerprinting in this measurement path.
